Former Black Stars midfielder, Isaac Eshun, has died at Kojokrom in Takoradi, after a short illness.

The former Eleven Wise player was a regular member of the Black Stars between 1965 and 1974 and had a brief stint as captain of the team.

He captained the African select side that played in 1972 mini-World Cup in Brazil and the Afro Latin-American Games in Mexico.

He also had a relatively successful career as a coach, managing sides such as the Black Stars, Black Satellites, Sekondi Hasaacas, Hearts of Oak, Great Olympics and Dragons FC of Benin.

Netizens have been paying tribute to Eshun, whose senior brother, John Eshun, also captained Black Stars briefly in the 1970s.
