According to The Telegraph, in a surprising development, however, the hearing was adjourned without explanation.
A fresh date has been set, with the 32-year-old now expected to appear at Southwark Crown Court on September 15 instead.
The postponement provides a timely window for Partey to shift his focus back to football. His experience will be crucial as Ghana faces Chad and Mali in a bid to strengthen its grip at the top of Group I.

In a video circulating on social media and sighted by YEN.com.gh, Partey was captured checking into the Black Stars’ team hotel after touching down in Accra on Tuesday.
Dressed casually and carrying his bags, he calmly made his way into the lobby.
The midfielder is also expected to join his teammates for a light session before the trip to N’Djamena, where Ghana meets Chad.

Having just returned from travel, he will likely be limited to some gentle stretches as he eases back into camp.
The Black Stars currently lead Group I, and victories in both upcoming fixtures would put them within touching distance of securing a place at the 2026 World Cup.

Away from international football, Partey’s rescheduled court date falls just a day before Villarreal’s clash against Tottenham Hotspur in the UEFA Champions League on September 16.
That fixture will be his first appearance back in England since the case began, and given his past with Spurs’ bitter rivals Arsenal, the reception is unlikely to be friendly.
Before that, however, Partey will aim to help Villarreal maintain their unbeaten start to the 2025/26 La Liga season.
According to Flashscore, the Yellow Submarine face a tricky test on September 13 against Diego Simeone's Atletico Madrid, who are yet to record a win in their opening three matches, at the Metropolitano Stadium.
