In a statement that has been reported by Sports Mole, the club said:

"AFC Bournemouth are aware of posts circulating on social media involving right-back, Alex Jimenez.
"The club understand the seriousness of the matter and it is currently being investigated."

While the club did not give details, The Telegraph claims Jimenez messaged a 15-year-old girl on Instagram.

Iraola later addressed the issue during his pre-match press conference, insisting the club would gather more information before making further decisions.

"The club has to do their investigations and see what has really happened," Iraola told BBC Radio Solent.
"We will then move from there. I hope it's not what we think."

Jimenez joined Bournemouth on loan from AC Milan last summer before completing a permanent switch in February, signing a contract running until 2031 at the south coast club.
