Examinations administered by WAEC

Ordinarily, there are two types of exams in a year:

  • WASSCE May/June: This is undertaken by final year students in senior secondary schools. The exam is offered during the May/June period, and results are announced in August.
  • WASSCE Nov/Dec: Also referred to as General Certificate Examination, it is offered in the November/December period. It is given to secondary school leavers who are interested in correcting deficiencies in their results. Ordinarily, the results are out by December of the same year.
