I was given a gift not bribe – Saani Daara tells Anas

- The PRO for Ghana Football Association is denying taken bribe after Anas exposé

- Saani Daara says he was only offered gift in Anas undercover video and not bribe

The Communications Director of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), has denied ever taken bribe after he was spotted in the latest undercover investigation piece by ace journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas.

Ibrahim Sanni Daara who has served as PRO of GFA for years was caught on camera ordering his aide to receive a GHC4, 000 bribe from Tiger Eye PI in on his behalf.

Mr Daara was offered the cash in the investigation piece after agreeing to persuade the technical handlers of the Black Stars to give Thomas Abbey a call-up into the Senior National team, the Black Stars.

Thomas Abbey was the best player on the local scene, scoring 14 goals to be the third top scorer in the Ghana Premier League, despite playing as a winger.

However, the local player hardly earn a position to play for the senior national team, the Black Stars.

Sannie Daara who was responding in a first interview after Anas exposé insisted that the money handed to his assistant by the Tiger Eye team was a mere gift.

The former BBC journalist maintained that, he was rewarded for his wise counsel and not bribe as Anas want people to believe.

“Under normal circumstance, if you give me a gift I will take it but I said give it to this guy because he might be of need,” Saani Daara said.
