Amissah Arthur to be buried at military cemetery

- The family of the late vice president has announced that the late states man will be buried at the military cemetery at Burma Camp in Accra

- The former vice president passed away at age 67 on the 29th of June 2018

Former vice president Paa Kwesi Amissah-Arthur will be buried at the military cemetery at Burma Camp in Accra, his family has announced.

The family of the late Amissah-Arthur announced arrangements for the funeral and burial rites of the former vice president on Thursday, July 19.

The mortal remains of the former statesman will be laid in state at the foyer of the Accra International Conference Centre for filing past by the general public on Thursday 26th July.

The family announced that his burial service will follow after that and will be held on Friday 27th July.

The mortal remains of the former vice president will then be taken to the military cemetery at Burma Camp, where he will be laid to rest.

The late Amissah-Arthur died two weeks ago after he reportedly collapsed at the Airforce Gym during a workout session.

He was rushed to the 37 Military Hospital after falling unconscious but was pronounced dead upon arrival.

He previously served as Governor of the Bank of Ghana from 2009 to 2012, before becoming Vice President to former President John Mahama in August 2012.

The late Amissah-Arthur also served as the Deputy Secretary for Finance in the PNDC government from February 1986 to March 1993.

He died aged 67.
