YEN.com.gh has sighted a photo of 'One Corner' hitmaker Patapaa which is trending on social media.
Patapaa on Saturday, August 4, 2018, embarked on a cleanup exercise in his hometown of Agona Swedru in the Central Region.
As part of events leading to the exercise, Patapaa had a meeting with Mrs Justina Marigold Assan, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of Agona West.
After the meeting, the Patapaa shared a photo of himself and Mrs Assan with a caption aimed at whipping up support for the exercise.
“Met the Mayor (MCE) Of Agona West today concerning my clean up Exercise, coming up this Saturday (National Sanitation Day) and we all set and ready… Don’t Miss Out, Be there as we Keep our Constituency Clean. #Pa2PaMovement,” he captioned the photo on Instagram.
While Patapaa's intention of ridding his hometown of filth is good, it was not of much interest to his fans like the 'camboo', as sneakers are commonly referred to as in the local parlance, he was wearing in the photo with his MCE.
To put it simply, the sneaker, a Nike Air Force 1, looks oversized for the Swedru-born artiste and his followers noticed and decided to troll him for it.
@iwantdadollarpopaslimm described the sneakers as size 15: "Bru why u got on size 15 sneakers"
@luckyblezz laughed at Patapaa's sneaker:"@patapaa__amisty your kick ooo your kick bard bard"
@mensa_caleb warned jovially that Patapaa could be arrested for wearing that shoe:"Patapaa is the shoe your size u can be arrested oo "
@snazzys.luxury.gh blamed it on Patapaa's handlers and even prescribed some slaps form them: "Why are u wearing oversized shoe ? Those dressing u need some slap"
@michael_bosompem liked Patapaa's swag but thought thesneaker was too old "Papapizyyyy wo y3 guy ruff, but chaley d snicker old too much"
@ebonykayyy likened Patapaa's shoe to tea bread:"This your long shoe dier T bread oo but looks clean man"
@mocjib pointed out that Patapaa's shoe could have been worn by Asebu Amenfi, a character in folklore which was said to be the most gigantic and could chew a barn of maize as pop corn at a sitting:"@patapaa_amisty me check wo shoe no..more than Asebu Amenfi ne sabago."
Born Justice Amoah, Patapaa shot to fame in 2017 with his popular 'One Corner' song.
The 'crazy' dance which came with the song propelled the song to the international stage as reached the borders of Nigeria and other African countries.
But his relatively young career has often been characterised by such mockery on social media.
It will be recalled that in April, Patapaa became the subject of some serious social media trolling over his sense of fashion.
At that time, he was trolled for wearing an oversized suit to the 2018 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMAs) where his 'One Corner' song was competing for the Song of the Year award.
