Goosie Tanoh raises alarm over death threats in NDC

- Goosie Tanoh, an NDC flagbearer aspirant, has raised alarm over deaths threats as the party's primaries draw closer

- He added that the growing trend needs to stop as it is not healthy for the party

- Tanoh however noted that despite the threats he will still win the race to become the flagbearer

An aspiring flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Goosie Tanoh, has claimed that there is a growing number of death threats and open intimidation.

According to him, this has become a growing trend, as the party goes to the polls on Saturday, January 26, 2019.

He explained that there is a grand agenda by certain party gurus, whose names he refused to mention, to adopt diabolical strategies to ensure that the delegates voted for one particular candidate, hence the death threats.

Tanoh claimed that most of his supporters, who are NDC delegates, have received death threats and open intimidation for opting for him.

Speaking on Nhyira Fm, he stressed that the death threats and intimidation had to stop immediately, since it would not augur well for party cohesion and peace.

He was of the view that the party’s delegates should be allowed to vote for the candidate who they think has the qualities to help lead the NDC as flagbearer and wrestle political power from the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government in 2020.

Tanoh, who is confident of victory in the NDC presidential race, stated emphatically that the death threats and open intimidation must stop for the sake of party unity and peace.

The NDC presidential hopeful did not mention those who were behind such death threats and intimidation, but stated confidently that “I will still win the NDC race”.

He disclosed that the NDC delegates have embraced his grassroots empowerment message, adding that if voted as flagbearer, he would not neglect the party’s grassroots members as it happened during the 2016 polls.
