- He explained that Mensah is wanted for other crimes in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
The former Central Regional chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Bernard Allotey Jacobs, has claimed that Nana Appiah Mensah may never be tried in Ghana.
Per a report by Adomonline.com, he stated that the government of Ghana has no power to extradite him.
He explained that the beleaguered Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Menzgold Ghana Limited is involved in another deal at the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

This, he said, would make it impossible for police officials in UAE to allow him to be extradited.
According to reports, Nana Appiah Mensah who has been declared wanted by Ghanaian security authorities for allegedly “defrauding by false pretences” had already been arrested over a month ago in the UAE.
Despite satisfying bail conditions, the businessman could not be traced in Ghana and a search for him was publicly announced last week.
A self-recognizance bail which was granted him by the Ghana Police Service (GPS) did not, however, come with the expected seizure of his passport.
Speaking on Adom FM’s morning show “Dwaso Nsem” on Tuesday, January 15, 2019, Jacobs said the NPP was trying to disassociate themselves from businesses they have held with Mensah.
He further noted that Mensah has said himself that he invested GHc20 million into NPP’s 2016 election campaign, but he failed to prove his allegations when he was pushed by show host, Captain Smart.
