Willi Roi: Witnesses reveal how key Zylofon man was found dead

Fresh details have emerged over the death of Willi Roi of Zylofon Media who died on Sunday, February 10 2019 .

Roi passed away at the Royal Richester Hotel at East Legon, Accra. His death was confirmed by a colleague worker at Zylofon Media, Arnold Mensah Elavanyo on Facebook.

As earlier reported by YEN.com.gh, the lifeless body of Roi was found lying in his apartment in the hotel. But there was not much detail his death.

New information YEN.com.gh has gathered indicate that there was blood oozing out of Roi's mouth when his body was found by security men at the apartment in his office.

According to reports, the Zylofon Artiste and Repertoire (A&R) manager had returned to the apartment at about 12:00 am after attending a show the previous day.

Many hours after returning to his apartment, security officers at the place realised that Roi had not come out to get food as he normally does.

The alarmed security officers went into the Zylofon A&R manager's apartment only to see him slumped with blood oozing out of his mouth.

The police were immediately called to the scene and he was reportedly pronounced dead on the scene before his body was transported to the police hospital.

“He returned from a gig around 12 am and moved in straight to his apartment. According to the security personnel, they had not seen him move out till evening and decided to go check on him only to find out he had passed on with blood oozing out of his mouth. We just brought the body to the police hospital morgue,” NYDJlive.com reported a close source to have said.

Originally, Willie Roi was staying in Tema and recently moved to the East Legon apartment to help him reduce the stress after his night gigs in Accra.

The deceased was a singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and a sound engineer (music producer).

He worked with the top artistes like Daddy Lumba, Fela, Sunny Ade, and Sunny Okussun in various roles.

Until his untimely demise, he was the head of Zylofon Arts Club.
