Akufo-Addo appoints economist as new government statistician
President Akufo-Addo, following the recommendations of the Public Services Commission, has appointed Professor Samuel Kobina Annim as the new government statistician.
Professor Annim’s appointment was contained in a letter and signed by the director of administration, Kwadwo Asante-Mensah.
Per the letter, Professor assumes duty from March 1, 2019, after serving as a statistician and an associate professor of economics for over 18 years at the University of Cape Coast (UCC).

Per a report by Ghanaiantimes.com.gh, the management of the Ghana Statistical Service (GSS) has entreated the public to accord him the necessary courtesies during his tenure.
Prior to the professor’s appointment, David Yenukwa Kombat was in the acting position since 2018, after he took over from Baah Wadieh.
