The West African Examination Council (WAEC) released provisional results for the 2019 West African Secondary School Certificate Examinations (WASSCE) on July 30.
Since the results were released, there have been many stories of students from across the regions of Ghana doing extremely well.
One such person who did so well in the exams is, Chris Mensah Amentor, a boy from Odoben Senior High School (in the Asikuma Odoben Brakwa constituency of the Central region.

Amentor scored seven As and one B in the eight subjects he wrote. He got As in Biology, Chemistry, Elective Mathematics, Physics, Integrated Science, Core Mathematics, and Social Studies with English being the only he did not get a perfect score.
The brilliant boy's result is particularly exceptional for the fact that Odoben SHS is an underprivileged school.
Established in 1991 as a community, it is one of the schools which suffered to cope with the introduction of President Nana Akufo-Addo's Free SHS due to lack of infrastructure.

It is also the same school where Priscilla Tettey, the girl in the notorious 'Kitchen Stool' scandal which broke in 2018, came from.
With such a background, Amentor could be said to have performed beyond expectations and it is no wonder that a social media user, Osikani Belebele GH, who shared the boy's photo and results slip on Facebook wanted his post to go viral.
According to Osikani, there was no reason for Amentor not to go viral and thus asked Facebook users to share the post until it got the attention of the MP for Asikuma Odoben Brakwa.
