Camera technicians at GhOne boycott work over unpaid salaries

- GHOne TV’s camera executives refused to work Tuesday morning

- Their action comes after the company's inability to pay them six-month salary arrears

- Bola Ray, went into a meeting with the employees to resolve the matter

Information reaching YEN.com.gh reveals that GHOne TV’s camera executives refused to work Tuesday morning, February 18, 2020.

The camera technicians boycotted the station’s breakfast show and other live broadcast programs.

According to a report filed by the GhanaReport, sources at GHOne TV revealed that Chief Executive of EIB, Kwabena Anokye Adisi, popularly known as Bola Ray, went into a meeting with the employees to resolve the matter.

This is, however, the first time employees of the company have boycotted work despite earlier threats to do so, as the company owes them up to six months salary arrears

For the past two years, EIB has been struggling with some financial challenges hence its difficulty in paying salaries of employees.

Most employees of the company have resigned over poor conditions of work.

In other news, the Supreme Court has in a unanimous decision refused an application seeking to halt ongoing construction works on the National Cathedral.

The seven-member panel presided over by Chief Justice Kwesi Anin on February 18, 2020, ruled that appropriate remedies exist to be used by the court to provide compensation if it rules against the state in the substantive case.

A businessman, Jonathan Holm, is in court accusing the government of allowing state land to be used in a manner that does not serve the public interest.
