3 dead 20 injured in fatal Accra-Kumasi Highway accident

Three persons have died with 20 others injured in a fatal accident that occurred on the Accra-Kumasi Highway.

This happened at the Teacher Mantey stretch of the Highway on Saturday, March 14, 2020.

According to an Eyewitness, Kwadwo Minta, a staff of the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO), an articulated truck with registration number AE 1913 -12 coming from the Kumasi direction crashed into the side of the passenger bus with registration number GT 5425-20 coming from the Accra direction.

The injured persons were rushed to the Suhum and Nsawam Government Hospitals while the bodies of the deceased have been deposited at the morgue.

He revealed that the bus somersaulted and landed at the roadside.

According to him, one of the accident vehicles was overtaking, and this could have been avoided to save the lives of passengers.

This accident is coming at a time that the country has witnessed a lot of accidents, especially on the Kintampo highway.
