The President of the United States of America, Donald Trump, has declared Sunday, March 15, 2020, as a national day of prayer over coronavirus.

This is to be observed by all American citizens in calling on God for protection as Trump explained in a tweet sighted by YEN.com.gh.

He wrote: It is my great honor to declare Sunday, March 15th as a National Day of Prayer. We are a country that, throughout our history, have looked to God for protection and strength in times like these....”

Trump further called on all people no matter where they may be to join in calling on God on that day.

....No matter where you may be, I encourage you to turn towards prayer in an act of faith. Together, we will easily PREVAIL!

Meanwhile, President Trump had earlier outlined measures taken to stall the further spread of the virus after declaring it a national emergency.

He had also donated an amount of $100,000 to help fight coronavirus.

So far, nearly 2,000 confirmed cases of Covid-19 have been recorded in the US with 43 deaths.

Ghana has also confirmed its third case of coronavirus after the first two cases were confirmed on the night of Thursday, March 12, 2020.
