COVID-19: Ghana records first coronavirus recovery (video)

A video making rounds on social media seem to suggest that Ghana has finally recovered.

In the video sighted by YEN.com.gh, the recovered patient was seen leaving one of the quarantine centres at a hospital amid cheers from the nurse who were extremely happy about the recovery.

The patient appeared to be a Chinese, left the hospital amid cheers for successfully beating the virus.

Another nurse who was believed to have filmed the video was heard saying she wanted to go hug the patient who had fully recovered.

Currently, Ghana has recorded 68 cases with 3 deaths.

YEN.com.gh earlier reported that the Ghana Medical Association (GMA), has urged President Akufo-Addo to declare a nationwide lockdown with the exception or exemption of emergency services.

The GMA being fully conscious of the threat posed by the pandemic and the alarming rate at which community spread could escalate the numbers is advocating for an immediate lockdown.

According to a statement signed by the President of the GMA, Dr Frank Ankobea, though the lockdown is not a comfortable decision for leadership, it a proven option backed by science.
