COVID-19: 2 Patients tell heart drenching story of trauma and stigmatisation(video)

- 2 persons who are currently receiving treatment agreed to talk about their experience after contracting COVID-19

- One of them stated that the virus was much more serious as it makes one breathless to the point of death

- The other patient said the feeling of anxiety associated with this kind of disease was not easy

Coronavirus as has been much talked about and have made headlines over the last few months and weeks both in Ghana and across the globe,

Despite it being trumpeted always, people are still in doubt about the disease and how serious it attacks people .

At the University of Ghana Medical Centre, 2 persons who are currently receiving treatment agreed to talk to Joy News' Komla Adom on grounds of anonymity and privacy.

One of the patients, speaking about his experiences and the treatment received so far, stated the virus was much more serious as it makes one breathless to the point of death.

He however, added that, the treatments being given to him were helping in his recovery.

This testament from the man goes to say that COVID-19 is not a death sentence.

Speaking to the second patient who was also receiving treatment at the facility, she revealed that she was admitted at the facility on April 20 after she experienced most of the symptoms and later tested positive,

According to her, she was sure she had the virus as she experienced all the symptoms except for the sore throat.

According to her, the feeling of anxiety associated with this kind of diease was not easy. She also added that it has not been psychologically easy for her, but she found ways and means to distract herself.

According to her, close relatives and friends have been very supportive during these hard times.

She, however, stated that she is scared of stigmatisation she would experience as she would be soon getting out of the treatment area.

She encouraged individuals to adhere to the World Health Organisation's safety protocols in order to stay safe.

Despite the meassage, the video was carrying some individuals chose to politicise it while others commented on a few observations they made while watching the video.

Abdul believes the Journalist deserves an award for risking his life just to educate people.

Regardless of the footage that was recorded, David thinks it is a scam.

Nurideen said the microphones were supposed to be covered.

Frimpong could not believe people were still playing politics with COVID-19.

Meanwhile, the founder and general overseer of the Glorious Word Power Ministries International, Rev. Isaac Owusu Bempah has revealed that yet another virus would emerge after the COVID-19.

According to the prophet who is noted for giving doomsday prophecies, what is yet to come would be scarier than coronavirus and will kill a great number of people as well.

Owusu Bempah noted that this particular virus would have no cure or vaccine
