Government must open borders to allow Ghanaians return home - Ablakwa

- NDC's Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has called on the government to temporarily open the country's borders

- According to him, many Ghanaians have been left stranded in other countries following the closure of our borders

- He added that Akuffo-Addo should grant our fellow citizens a narrow window of return from other countries and be quarantined

The deadly coronavirus, otherwise known as the COVID-19 disease, has led to the suspension of a lot of activities that have caused a lot of things to come to a standstill.

President Akufo-Addo ordered a closure of the country’s borders on March 21, 2020, when the country had only recorded 21 coronavirus cases.

In his last address to the nation, the president announced that the closure of all the entry points (land, air and sea)of the country has been extended to May 31, 2020.

In as much as the move to close the border was for a good purpose several Ghanaians have called for the borders of the country to be open to enable movement to other countries.

In a Facebook post sighted by YEN.com.gh, NDC's Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has called on government to temporarily open the borders.

According to him, many Ghanaians have been left stranded in other countries following the closure of our borders.

He added that Akuffo-Addo should grant our fellow citizens a narrow window of return from other countries and be quarantined.

In other news, member of Parliament for Dome Kwabenya, Sarah Adwoa Safo, has issued a public plea to the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to help as her life is in danger.

The Dome Kwabenya MP, who is facing stiff competition from Ghana’s Ambassador to India has lamented that her life is in danger.

According to her, an attempt on her life last week backfired when assailants who thought she was in the Constituency Chairman’s residence, launched an assault on the house.
