NBA legend Kobe Bryant and his daughter Gianna were involved in a helicopter crash earlier this year. The accident that took their lives and those of others on board.

The icon's death was extremely painful to the entire world especially his wife Vanessa who sued the aircraft’s owner Island Express with the 72-page lawsuit one month after the incident.

However, the operators have responded to the allegations leveled against them, saying Gigi knew the dangers of flying a chopper according to SunSport quoting TMZ.

The chopper flying the 18-time NBA All-Stars champion was reportedly flying at about 184 miles-per-hour in bad weather just before crashing on January 26.

SunSport reveals that the company and the pilot, Defendant Zobayan, were described as "wanton, willful, callous, reckless and depraved" in the court document.

Meanwhile, the Island Express helicopters via the reports published by TMZ discredits Vanessa's claims against them, saying the foggy weather conditions was an “act of God”.

Their statement reads: "Kobe Bryant and GB [Gigi] had actual knowledge of all of the circumstances, particular dangers, and an appreciation of the risks involved and the magnitude thereof, and proceeded to encounter a known risk, and voluntarily assumed the risk of the accident, injury.

It adds: "thereby barring or reducing [Vanessa's] claim for damages."
