A Nigerian sailor identified as Tamuno-Opubo George with the Twitter handle @GodsgreatG has recounted some of the challenges they face while being away from their spouses and loved ones.

The young man took to the microblogging site to disclose that he was away for six months and never knew his girlfriend was getting married to someone else.

He said it was the fiance that invited him to the wedding, adding that his girlfriend was shocked to see him at the ceremony.

Before disclosing his personal experience, George said one of his colleagues met his wife’s lover in his house.

He tweeted: "Having a chat with my colleagues about their kids. One said he came back from sea and his daughter asked him “who are you”.

"The other said his son wouldn’t let him carry him.

His post had some reactions from Nigerians.

In other news, a Nigerian man with the Twitter handle @SamSoja has proposed to a lady he met on the microblogging site two years after sliding into her DM.

The lady identified with the Twitter handle @_Olayimika took to her page to make the disclosure on Tuesday, August 4.

She shared the screenshot of the conversation that turned out to be the beginning of their friendship.

The young man initiated a conversation on a Monday morning and admitted that he was sliding into her DM on Monday morning, a day that is generally known as the busiest day of the week.

After the young man's admission, @_Olayimika told him that his sliding into her DM on a Monday morning was a sign of goodness as if knowing that he would be engaging her two years later.
