It was all tears and sadness when Member of Parliament for the Ayawaso West Constituency, Lydia Alhassan, together with her children and the former energy minister - Boakye Agyarko, visited the graveyard of her husband, Emmanuel Boakye Agyarko, who died two years ago.
The sudden death of Emmanuel Boakye Agyarko left Madam Lydia Alhassan no choice but to take up the mantle of MP for the Ayawaso West Wuogon Constituency.
“Two years ago you left us, paradise, your home. You remain in our hearts.
You remain our hero whose memory we shall forever cherish... The Children and the rest of the family pray you rest peacefully in the bosom of your maker,” she stated in remembrance of him.
Madam Lydia Alhassan is contesting the seat of her late husband in what many see as a heated contest against actor-turned politician, John Dumelo who has already taking his campaign trail to a different tangent.
From the issues of flooding to infrastructure deficit at the rural zones of the Ayawaso West Wuogon Constituency, voters are keen on casting their ballot on performance as against political campaigns and promises.
