NDC demonstrations: Scores of supporters mass up to protest election 2020 declaration in Tamale

- Supporters and sympatisers of the NDC are currently demonstrating in the Northern region against the results of the just-ended elections

It looks like the demonstrations from supporters of the opposition National Democratic Congress, NDC, protesting the 2020 election results is not stopping anytime soon.

YEN.com.gh has sighted a current video of some protesters in Northern Region's capital, Tamale, who have taken to the streets to protest EC's declaration.

The protestors were spotted clad in red outfits, accompanied by arm and head bands.

They were spotted with carrying placards with various inscriptions written on them to communicate exactly how they felt.

In Kumasi, a similar incident took place, as women supporting the party in the region, took to the streets to protest over the Electoral Commission's results.

Dressed in red and black attire, the aggrieved women reechoed former President John Dramani Mahama’s claims that the election was flawed.

The women described the chairperson of the Electoral Commission (EC) Jean Mensa’s posture before, during, and after the polls as “shameful”.

Mahama rejected the results of the 2020 elections, describing it as fundamentally flawed, arguing that the declaration was a clear violation of the law because the commission did not follow the rules set out to conduct the elections.

Meanwhile, the immediate past chairman of the National Peace Council, Most Rev. Emmanuel Asante, says any action that will jeopardise the peace of the country from the National Democratic Congress (NDC) will not be tolerated.

Commenting on the development, Most Rev. Asante urged the NDC and its flagbearer to desist from inciting supporters onto the streets and follow the laid down legal channels for the resolution of electoral disputes.

According to him, there was nothing wrong with Mahama and the NDC rejecting the outcome of the polls.
