In the run-up to the 2020 general elections, some Ghanaian actors including Prince David Osei hit the streets to campaign for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) with the 4more4Nana mantra.

In a Facebook post sighted by YEN.com.gh, Prince David Osei was ranting about the recent taxes announced by government on the free water and electricity that was enjoyed during the lockdown.

According to him, he together with a host of other actors hit the streets to campaign for 4More4Nana based on the premise of free water and electricity.

In the 2021 budget statement reading in parliament, government mentioned that Ghanaians will be taxed for the free water and electricity that was enjoyed during the lockdown.

According to Prince David Osei, for the government to turn around to tax people, makes those who championed the course look mindless.

Social media users have reacted to the post made by Prince David Osei.

The deputy CEO of MASLOC, Afia Akoto in response to his message asked which country does not run on taxes.

Meanwhile, Information Minister, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, has justified the introduction of a 1% COVID-19 health levy on VAT, saying Ghanaians will have to pay for the free electricity and water introduced by the Akufo-Addo administration in 2020.
