- Prince David Osei has quizzed why Ghanaians insult and disrespect entertainers
- His comments come on the back of backlash Ghanaian artistes were receiving following the Grammy miss
- The actor however congratulated Wizkid and Burna Boy for making Africa proud
Actor Prince David Osei has lashed out at Ghanaians criticising, disrespecting, and insulting the nation’s artistes over the recent Grammy miss.
Prince David Osei took to Instagram and lamented why Ghanaians tend to openly disrespect some of the music greats in a bid to rub it in their faces that Nigerians are doing better when it comes to the international stage.
The Ghanaian actor was of the view that things really needed to change in the country and that Ghanaians had no right to insult those who entertain them on a regular basis.
Prince David Osei wrote: “What kind of nation is this? We are disrespecting and insulting our music icons, who entertain us daily because Burna Boy and Wizkid won the grammys. Are we okay?"
His comments follow many social media rants over why Ghanaian artistes cannot gain global recognition just like others.
Again, he was subtly touching on the Twitter banter between Samini and Stonebwoy following the latter’s congratulatory message to his fellows WizKid and Burna Boy.
The duo had a go at each other on the social media platform with Samini calling out Stonebwoy for disrespecting music icons and also calling him a sellout.
Stonebwoy on the other hand reacted to Samini’s claims and said he was not ready to banter with Samini on social media since they had a longstanding relationship.
Meanwhile, former Ruff Town Records signee, Fantana, has indicated in a new video that no Ghanaian musician can say he or she has made $1 million from music.
While speaking in an interview with Ghanaian blogger Jibriel, Fantana revealed that she does not think any Ghanaian has made that much from working in Ghana alone.
She however indicated that it was possible for some top stars like Shatta Wale and Sarkodie to say they have made such an amount, but the new faces in the music industry cannot make such claims.
