2 dead after Yutong Bus crashes head-on with another car

- Another accident has been recorded on the Accra-Kumasi Highway

- The accident occurred on Monday, April 26, 2021, about 7:30 pm after a Yutong bus collided head-on with a Mitsubishi Pajero

- Two occupants of the Mitsubishi Pajero died on the spot with the other occupants in the Yutong left injured

Another accident has been recorded on the Accra-Kumasi Highway at the outskirt of Akim Asafo near Suhum, resulting in the death of two people.

The two people who reportedly died included a 12-year-old girl, after a head-on collision between a Yutong Bus and a private car.

The accident, according to a report filed by StarrNews occurred on Monday, April 26, 2021, at about 7:30 pm.

The driver, Francis Ali, 30, who was driving a Yutong bus with registration number GE 5124 – 19 with passengers onboard enroute Bawku from Accra did a wrongful overtaking.

According to the report, upon reaching a section of the road at the outskirt of Akim Asafo near Suhum, he overtook a fleet of vehicles ahead of him and in the process, crashed head-on with a Mitsubishi Pajero 4×4 private car with registration number GE 1201-18 which was coming from the Kumasi direction.

The yet-to-be-identified driver of the Mitsubishi believed to be 45 years died on the spot with the 12-year-old girl.

Meanwhile, the driver of the Yutong bus who caused the accident, escaped uninjured while occupants of the bus sustained minor injuries.

Just recently, YEN.com.gh reported that three people have lost their lives after cars engaging in a racing competition run them over.

Three other people were also in critical condition at the 37 Military Hospital battling for survival after an overspeeding Toyota Camry Salon car with registration number GR- 1708 -21 hit them.

The incident occurred at the 37 Lorry Station area in Accra at about 8:30 PM on Wednesday, April 14, 2021.

The vehicle was heading towards the 37 roundabout at top speed in competition with a Mercedes Benz saloon car.
