US-based Ghanaian vlogger, Twene Jonas, has been trending for the past week after he reportedly insulted Otumfuo.
Our manifesto: This is what YEN.com.gh believes in
Twene Jonas mentioned the Asante King whilst blasting Ghanaian chiefs and leaders in his latest rant about galamsey destroying water bodies.
"Even the Asantehene said if you are a chief and give people land to illegally mine in return of goat then it's over to you," he said. In the viral video, he continued that, Ghana everyone is a thief, they don't speak the truth, including the Asantehene," Twene Jonas was heard saying in a video.
"He couldn't speak the truth but if you watch, he has been listening to me now, hence, he has to speak the truth now," he added.
Following that, Otumfuo's Nkwantakesehene in an interview ordered Twene Jonas to apologise to the Asantehene.
However, some social media users took to YEN.com.gh's Facebook page to react to the Nkwantakesehene's statement.
@Osafo A Daniel: "This guy may be speaking the truth but he could say it or criticize without the insults. Those defending can you look in your father's face and use such words on him, even when he is wrong?."
@Yussif Adebayor: "to all Muslims supporting Jonas, what harm fir'awn (ferow ) didn't cuased on earth? but when Allah send anabi Musah (Moses) a. s. to him HE Allah command Moses to talk to him in a polite manner. So such an art of indeciplain must be condemned first by we Muslims if we are tuely Muslims, we don't talk to our elders like that, when also said in the Qur'an, we should obey Him Allah and obey those with authority among us. Thanks very much."
@Sam Bons: "Those talking in favor of Jonas, hope you will be happy if your child or younger person insults you. God will judge you if you punish such child. Let’s teach young ones how to tell truth to elders."
@Albert Osei: "Assibey Proverbs 24 :21-22 Says my son fear the Lord and the King and don't be a rebel against both else you'll be destroyed suddenly. So my advice for Twene Jonas is that he can make his point without insults but if he continues, he's digging his own grave; saith the Bible."
@Oluwa Favorite Son Precious: "All of you that are in support of this guy now, I know if something bad started happening to him now, y’all will back out. So to me let him go and apologize and it will not take anything from him.. That’s my own opinion✌️I come in peace."
Meanwhile, Twene Jonas has brushed off a video in which a man was seen cursing him over comments he made about Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.
In his usual self-recorded video, Twene Jonas jabbed the person who said he had cursed him and said even the Asantehene was his staunch supporter.
He said it was because of him that the Asantehene said 30% of his own people knew the people responsible for destroying Ghana's water bodies with galamsey activities.
