Dancehall music star, Shatta Wale, known in private life as Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jnr, has reacted to the news that he and his boys have attacked some road constructors in Accra.
A video popped up on Monday, May 31, 2021, showing Shatta Wale and some of his boys in hot exchanges on a street.
The initial story to the video was that Shatta Wale and his boys have attacked the road construction workers for blocking them from using the road.
Some of the reports even suggested that Shatta Wale had ordered his boys to go and beat the constructors.
But in an interview with Andy Dosty on Hitz FM's Daybreak Hitz on Tuesday, June 1, 2021, Shatta Wale has denied the reports.
Why altercation happened
According to him, the exchanges seen in the video was because he and his boys went to the site to ask for the contractor's number.
Shatta Wale explained that he was not pleased that the junction leading to his secretariat (office) was untarred but the main road which already had asphalt on it was being re-tarred.
It was for this reason that he had asked his boys to stop the workers and get the number of their boss so he could talk to him and possibly have him add the road to his office to the construction.
Shatta Wale revealed that he eventually saw the contractor who assured him that something will be done about his stretch of the road.
Before denying the reports, Shatta Wale had expressed his dissatisfaction with the way the media paints him black even when he is trying to do something good for the masses.
Return from the US
The altercation between Shatta Wale and the road constructors come a few days after he returned from his recent trip to the United States.
Before returning to Ghana, Shatta Wale flaunted a new car, a white Rolls Royce Cullinan, on social media.
In a video sighted by YEN.com.gh, Shatta Wale is seen seated behind the steering wheel and speaking in excitement about the car.
He described the Rolls Royce as "my new whip" before he drove off.
