Speaking with Prophet Fire Oja, she stated they had not yet divorced but were officially separated.

Afua Asantewaa weeps over divorce
On Thursday, April 2, 2026, Afua Asantewaa went live on TikTok to respond to some claims made by her husband’s brother.
She stated that, contrary to public perception, her husband was an emotionally manipulative individual who made her life hell.
Afua Asantewaa broke down into tears as she spoke about a moment she allegedly caught her husband altering documents they jointly owned into sole ownership.
“Let me say my truth, if I die tomorrow, nobody would speak for me. My daughter saw land documents in your car that you had altered from our joint ownership into your single property. You people don't know anything; you should all shut up,” she said.
Afua Asantewaa added that even before becoming famous in 2023 due to her Guinness World Record singathon attempt, their marriage had crumbled and that it was her father who advised her to hold off on separation due to the upcoming event.
“My father told me that due to the singathon, I should not divorce him because it's was not a good time. My own daughter told me that I should not let a man destroy my life, my own daughter! Because she sees what the father does,” she added.
