"Hon. Minister of Health and all those with healthcare responsibilities, take note that the Weija-Gbawe Children’s Hospital, an important facility initiated by the Akufo-Addo government and virtually completed before his exit, is a world-class, state-of-the-art facility ready to serve."

Jerry Ahmed Shaib added that he was informed that the facility was to be commissioned on March 17, 2026, but that did not happen.

“I had a call from the Director of Infrastructure at the Ministry of Health that this hospital was to be commissioned around March 17; today, the hospital is still not operational."
“When children require specialised care, they have to be rushed to the Princess Marie Louise Children’s Hospital. We expect the Minister of Health to take the necessary steps to ensure the commissioning of this facility within the shortest possible time, for the benefit of the people of Weija-Gbawe,” he added.\
