Pastor Adamson Aromaegbe, founder and senior pastor of The Rock Word Church and Dominion International, has passed away. He died on Friday, August 21, 2026, and the news was made public two days later through an official church statement.

The announcement, released on Sunday, August 23, 2026, was signed by Reverend Nnamdy Echezona on behalf of the church leadership.

It remembered Aromaegbe as a faithful servant whose influence as a visionary leader, teacher, mentor, and Kingdom builder reached members of the Rivers-based congregation and the broader Dominion International family.

Church mourns Pastor Aromaegbe's passing

While acknowledging the pain of loss, the church leadership struck a tone that balanced grief with gratitude.

The statement read:

"Though we deeply miss his physical presence, we rejoice in the hope we have in Christ and celebrate a life well lived, a race well run, and a legacy that will continue for generations."

Leadership also assured members that the work Aromaegbe devoted his life to would press forward.

The church called on members and all connected to Dominion International to pray for the pastor's family and the congregation during this difficult period. The notice concluded with a scripture from 2 Timothy 4:7:

"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith."

News of his death prompted an outpouring of grief from those who had followed his ministry over the years, with many crediting his teachings as personally transformative.

Charles Chichebem Iroegbu wrote:

"Chai! I'm a beneficiary of his teachings. I started listening to him on BCA radio years ago and one of his quotes that has remained with me till today and I even quoted during Sunday School class this morning is, 'All you need is God's Presence because everything you need is in His Presence.' He's gone to rest, waiting the resurrection morning. The saints are going home in droves."

Ogbonna Obilor Victor added:

"A general gone home. Rest in His bosom. I remember the programs Healing Presence. A big blessing to me those days."

Onuoha Kingsley said:

"Am so short of words, rest on Man of God. God speed."
