The celebration, however, drew mixed reactions after the death of veteran actor Taiwo Hassan Ogogo cast a shadow over the industry.
Born Olufunke Ayotunde Akindele, the filmmaker used the occasion to reflect on her journey.
"Today is my birthday. My heart is full of gratitude to God for all He has done, all He is doing, and all that is still to come. Through every season, every lesson, every win, every mistake and every challenge, God has remained my strength and my shield," she wrote.
She also shared her prayers for the year ahead, expressing a desire for continued purpose and impact.
"That God blesses me with good health, long life, peace and the grace to keep walking in purpose. I pray that my life continues to mean something beyond me. That I can touch more lives, open more doors, nurture more talents, raise more stars," she added.
Ogogo's death overshadows Akindele's celebration
The birthday post landed against a sombre backdrop for the Nigerian entertainment industry.
Veteran actor Taiwo Hassan Ogogo, who had reportedly been battling stage four cancer with chemotherapy ruled out as a treatment option, was confirmed dead around the same period.
The loss prompted grief across Nollywood, and some of Akindele's followers felt the timing of her public celebration was insensitive given her senior colleague's passing.
