The ‘my name’ hit maker is a renowned reggae and dance hall artist in Ghana. He is also the CEO of Burniton Music Group, a big record making company in Ghana involved in music production. Many people came to know him especially after winning the Best International Award: Africa at the BET Awards in 2015. He is currently the most sought after reggae and dance hall artist in Ghana and Africa.

Stonebwoy Biography

He was born on March 5, 1988 in Ashaiman which is located in the Greater Accra region of Ghana. His birth name is Livingstone Etse Satekla. He attained his High School Certificate from Methodist Day Secondary School where he studied. The school is also famed for schooling Ghana’s rap guru Sarkodie. It was here that he developed his passion for music.

It was in this school that he developed his career in the creative art industry. Stonebwoy was an active member of the drama club. He also was ardent in composing songs at the young tender age. During his stay in Senior High School, he was involved in rap battles which feature Sarkodie and Dr. Cryme. He won all of his battles and Dr. Cryme crowned Stonebwoy born champion. His prowess and agility when holding the mic, landed him his first record Makuma, translated to English means heart.

He received enormous support from his fellow upcoming artists that he released another hit entitled Empress. This record introduced him to the Ghanaian entertainment industry. Many people started listening to his music as they saw the potential he had was big. He was noticed by Samini who is a veteran dance hall artist in Ghana who took him in.

It was here that his learnt the skills of mastering his talent. He was eager to learn the basics of the music industry. He released some singles under the label such as ‘Climax ‘and ‘Ghetto Love’ featuring Irene Logan. He also released his debut album named ‘Grade 1 Album’ which earned his many awards in Ghana. After years of learning, he finally left the group and formed his own record company dubbed Burniton Music Group.

Since then, his career has been soaring with numerous collaborations in the continent and across the world. He has worked with huge names in the world such as Trey Songz, Sarkodie, Jah Vinci, Patoranking, Morgan Heritage, Kranium and Patoranking. His prowess in composing and energy he brings to the stage has earned him respect from all over the world. He has also exposed the Ghanaian music industry to the world.

The talented star got married to his beautiful wife Louisa in 2017, in a colorful wedding. Many of his fans were left in the dark about his dating scene. It was until recently that they were shocked to discover the lad was getting married. Stonebwoy’s wife Louisa gave birth six months later. Stonebwoy and wife however kept a low profile on details about their marriage from the media.
