Ajumako-based robber called Otumfuo, 3 others busted

- The police in Ajumako in the Central Region have arrested a young man who identifies himself as 'Otumfuo' over a robbery incident

- The 25-year-old is said to have led three others to attack and rob a man of his car and other items including B-Forster bread

- The gang was apprehended at a nearby village after a hot chase from the police

A popular Ajumako-based armed robber ‘Daniel Otumfuo’ has been busted by the police following a robbery operation.

Otumfuo, 25, was reportedly busted with Kobina Antwi aged 20, Desmond Zinyir aged 25 and Eric Amissah 36, who went to rob and attack Emmanuel Abban a.k.a Joe with machetes and jackknife.

According to MyNewsGH.com, on July 27, 2018, at about 11:00 pm, the Ajumako police patrol team was informed of an operation by the four masked men.

They used a cement block to forcibly open their victim’s room and attacked him after which they bolted with the stolen items packed in the car.

The quartet managed to escape to a nearby thicket for safety taking along their victim’s phone, unregistered Toyota Corolla with DVLA Plate number DV- 144A-18 and other items including B-Forster bread.

The Police gave the four suspects a hot chase until they were intercepted in the stolen Toyota Corolla at a village called Owomasi near Breman Asikuma.

Community volunteers of Owomasi arrested and inflicted wounded the robbers before handing them over to arriving police patrol from Asikuma together with the said car where the Asikuma police later handed them over to Ajumako police to continue with investigations.

The stolen Toyota Corolla is still impounded at Asikuma police yet to be brought and the four suspects in police custody to assist with the investigations.
