Gory accident takes life of AngloGold's Sustainability Manager Nana Bekoe

The Senior Manager for Sustainability at AngloGold Ashanti (AGA), Nana Ampofo Bekoe has lost his life through a fatal road accident which occurred at the Apam junction in the Central Region on Saturday, May 4, 2019.

According to a Graphic Online report the incident happened in the morning while Bekoe was on his way to Accra for an official meeting.

He is believed to have gone into coma but died eventually Saturday afternoon, officials of the company confirmed to Graphic reporter, Daniel Kenu.

Mr. Bekoe is the second high profile staff from AngloGold who have died from an accident in the line of work. Three years ago, Communications strategist of the company, John Owusu, was knocked down during an operation to clamp down on illegal mining (galamsey) within the concession of Anglogold Ashanti at Obuasi.

The deceased left behind a wife, Rosemary and two boys between the ages of five and six years.

Tributes have since been trooping in for the late Nana Ampofo Bekoe on social media;
