Opportunity knocks once; Mahama has missed his chance - Nunoo Mensah

Former president John Dramani Mahama has missed his chance, there is no comeback for him again, this is what the former national security advisor Brigadier (rtd) Joseph Nunoo-Mensah thinks of the NDC flag bearer’s chances of winning the 2020 polls.

Brigadier (rtd) Nunoo-Mensah intimated that Mahama is a goner and has lost the trust and faith of Ghanaians.

He also noted that the former president lost to Akufo-Addo in 2016 because of the personnel he surrounded himself with.

The retired soldier says the Mahama has too many incompetent people around him.

Nunoo-Mensah said John Mahama should have kept the competent team the late President Atta Mills left for him but instead he decided to do otherwise.

He [Mahama] is no longer the President; his time is passed . . . Opportunity knocks but once, if you miss it, it is difficult to get it back."

"Mills (late) surrounded himself with one of the best teams in the world . . . competent men at the top of their professions and removing them from office affected Mahama’s administration. If you have a good team, it makes your work very easy . . . I don't know how to lie but that was one of the reasons he lost the election," he added.

YEN.com.gh earlier reported that Parliament on Thursday, January 30, 2020 approved a 50% and 100% upward review of fees charged for a passport application.

Effective February 1, 2020, the passport fee for booklets with 32 pages will cost GHC100 and the GHC150 for booklet with 48 pages.

Also, persons who want expedited service will have to pay GHC150 for the 32-page booklet and GHC200 for the 48-page booklet.
