Premier League organisers have reportedly concluded plans to play the remaining 92 matches this season behind closed doors.

The English topflight was suspended last weekend owing to the spread of deadly coronavirus across the globe.

Apart from league football, a number of national team competitions have also been hit by the tsunami of the bug infecting thousands and killing in hundreds.

Meanwhile, Sport Bible quoting SunSport claims the league will resume in the coming days but without the fans at the match centers.

Reports, however, reveal that the remaining matches will be beamed live on television to give fans a chance to watch their teams play.

As it stands, Liverpool are at the summit of the table with 82 points from 29 matches - 22 points better than defending champions Manchester City who have one match at hand.

The Sun further stated that a match venue could host more than one game in a day while there will be three days intervals between the next matchday.

It is believed that using a neutral venue would stop supporters from turning up outside the stadia - citing Paris Saint-Germain fans as an example after what they did during their Champions League tie against Borussia Dortmund.

The Premier League is due to resume on April 4 after it was suspended due to the outbreak of COVID-19 last December.

Alan Shearer told The Sun that Liverpool cannot be awarded the title if the season is incomplete: "As harsh and as horrible as that would be for some clubs, none more so than Liverpool, it is the only outcome,"

"If you cannot complete the fixtures then you cannot go handing out titles or consider relegating anybody.

"But I cannot see how it would be fair to hand them the title, despite the fact it is obvious nobody is going to catch them.

"They only need six points to wrap it up but they haven't got them yet so for that reason it has to be declared null and void.

"It would be very different if the season was suspended after they had got the points to win it. But they haven't and however horrible a scenario it would be, it's the only option."
