COVID-19: Andre Ayew joins campaign to fight Coronavirus

Ghana captain, Andre Dede Ayew, has issued a statement regarding the deadly Coronavirus.

The Swansea star has taken to his Instagram handle to encourage the world as the fight against Coronavirus continues.

Ayew touched on how innocent souls have been lost during the deadly outbreak.

"As the world takes decisive steps to combat the spread of the deadly Coronavirus which is wreaking havoc to families, communities, and nations. I want to urge you all to adhere to strictly to all the preventive advice to help stay healthy and also help curb the spread of the pandemic.

To fellow footballers, sports personalities, fans and families who have been affected, I wish to share my sympathies and I pray to Allah to comfort you and grant you healing mercies."

The Ghanaian star also prayed for health workers will be putting their lives on the line.

"To the frontline health workers who are working around the clock all over the world to assist those affected, keep doing your best for humanity.

We love our game, we love our sport and we love our fans. But there is more to life than the beautiful game. So let us all continue to adhere to the safety protocols to be safe.

Together, we will win this difficult match.

Always remember that regularly washing hands with soap and under running water is the surest way to stop the spread of the Coronavirus."

Meanwhile, two more cases of the dreaded Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) have been confirmed in Ghana taking the total to 11 cases.

The two new cases were confirmed at the Kumasi Centre for Collaborative Research (KCCR) on Thursday, March 19, 2020.

According to information provided by the Ghana Health Service, both victims are residents of Kumasi.

While the first case is a 59-year-old Ghanaian woman who just returned from the United Kingdom, the second is a 61-year-old Lebanese male trader.

The Ghanaian woman is said to have reported to a private hospital with a condition of fever (high temperature), general malaise.
