COVID-19:Stop pampering us; enforce a total lockdown - Gifty Anti tells Akufo-Addo

Veteran news anchor and ace broadcaster, Oheneyere Gifty Anti has underscored the need for President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to take a bold decision to enforce a total lockdown and stop pampering Ghanaians.

According to her, if the president takes the initiative to announce a total nationwide lockdown, the spread of the coronavirus would be brought under control.

President Akufo-Addo, in a bid to bring the spread of the coronavirus under control, announced an extension of the directive on the restriction of movement by another week.

However, reacting to this piece of information, Oheneyere Gifty Anti - in a Facebook post on Sunday, April 12, 2020, posited that the number of deaths being recorded in certain parts of the world is scary enough to push the president to enforce a nationwide lockdown.

In other news, the District Chief Executive of Atwima Kwanwoma, Nana Okyere-Tawia Antwi, has unleashed some strong lashes on some of his constituents for flouting social distancing rules which have come about as a result of the COVID-19 outbreak.

In a video captured by Adom FM and currently going round on social media, Nana Okyere-Tawia Antwi was seen whipping some residents in the district who were clamouring for what appeared like relief items.

The DCE, who was clearly peeved over the incident was seen using the cane to drive away some constituents because they were going against the World Health Organization's guidelines of ensuring social distancing.
