Explainer: Why actress Tracey Boakye is fighting with singer Mzbel

Kumawood actress, Tracey Boakye, and singer, Mzbel, born Belinda Nana Ekua Amoah, have been engaged in a bitter banter on social media.

Their 'beef', as social media users often call such banters, started on Tuesday, August 4, 2020, after the actress cast insinuations and insults at Mzbel.

While she did not mention any name in the first video, Tracey came back on social media on Wednesday, August 5, 2020, to confirm she was referring to Mzbel.

Mzbel replied saying she was in a comfortable lead, among many other counter-allegations of her own.

So what is this fight all about?

From the many videos circulating on social media, both Tracey Boakye and Mzbel have admitted to sleeping with a married man who is older than them (sugar daddy).

Apparently this sugar daddy sleeps with the two and many other ladies while providing them with many luxuries like expensive houses and cars.

According to Tracey Boakye, the man who is the father of her newly born daughter has bought her an East Legon house and cars.

While she has got a lot from the sugar daddy, Mzbel has got nothing and was only renting a house from the man.

Tracey added that the man told her he regretted having an affair with Mzbel and was leaving the singer because she was way too old.

In her response, Mzbel wondered how a side-chick like herself will be fighting over the man when the man's wife is there.

Mzbel indicated that she was content with whatever she was getting from the relationship and was ready to disclose anything.

The singer questioned why the actress keeps claiming to be working hard for her money when all she has is coming from a sugar daddy.

From their exchanges, it is clear the two have known themselves to be rivals dating the same man for a long time.

While they have kept quiet about it in public, they seem to have been looking for opportunities to deal with each other.

The opportunity presented itself when Mzbel, in a recent interview with Mona Gucci on Kantanka TV, stated that Tracey Boakye likes to show everything she has on social media, including when she is eating or easing herself.

Mzbel was asked a question on the show about Tracey Boakye saying some time ago that she could buy a Range Rover if she wanted to and even had one parked at her house.

It was during her response that she expressed doubts about Tracey's claim and explained that the actress would have posted the said Range Rover on social media if it were true

There is a high possibility that Mzbel answered this question based on her 'rivalry' with Tracey and would have probably said something different if it had been a different person, but Tracey, who could have also ignored her, decided to answer.

So as we have it, the Tracey Boakye and Mzbel fight is one about a subtle sugar daddy rivalry that has exploded because of Mzbel's interview.

In other trending news, social media users are laughing at GHOne TV presenter, Serwaa Amihere, for her recent interview with Information Minister, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah.

Serwaa got schooled by Oppong Nkrumah when she tried asking about the Emile Short report and recommendations on the Ayawaso West Wuogon by-election violence in 2019.

Many have criticised her for not preparing adequately for the interview.
