Sawla-Tuna-Kalba sustained injuries as blood was oozing from his ears due to the heavy beating. He was rescued by some people who came to his aid.

Tingbani Bukari and his brothers from Kunfusi said Tingbani should have received the motorbike but that was changed following the instruction of the NPP chairman Fushieni Mohammed.

Hon Sadik Sadak, the assemblyman for Kalba, where the Sawla-Tuna-Kalba District Farmer's day celebration took place on 6 November 2020, confirmed the incident in an interview with Bole-based Nkilgi FM.

Sadak said after speeches by the district chief executive (DCE), Lawal Tamimu and others, the presentation of awards went smoothly until a tricycle motor, which was supposed to be handed to Tingbani Bukari from Kunfusi was instead given to the NPP youth organiser for the constituency who is not a known farmer, resulting in the problem.
