Cape Coast set to get ultra-modern smart city known as Wakanda City of Return

Cape Coast is set to get a state-of-the-art city after signing an MoU

The building of the city is in line with the many tourist sites in the region which attract a lot of foreigners

A virtual concert is said to be in the offing to announce the huge project which would start soon

Cape Coast in the Central region has signed a Memorandum of Understanding to pave way for the creation of an ultra-modern smart city which would be known as the Wakanda City Of Return.

According to a report sighted by YEN.com.gh on myjoyonline.com, the deal was signed with the African Diaspora Development Institute (ADDI) and two local companies, Pelicape Limited and Adepa Africa Investments.

The partners in the huge project are believed to have leveraged their move on the huge tourism prospect of the Central region to come to an agreement to develop Cape Coast.

The new smart city is believed to envision a place of pilgrimage for people of Africans in the diaspora as well as other tourists to know about African history, culture, civilization, and Africa's role in the creation of the worlds economy evolving and growing economy.

Authorities in Cape Coast and partner members from ADDI will host a meeting to announce the creation of the project which would be duly named Wakanda City of Return.

The global virtual press conference is scheduled for November 12, 2020.

The project is a private sector-led initiative to develop the coastline and new areas in Cape Coast by creating a heritage experience with the building of 5-Star hotels, retreat/ health resort, conference centres, and an ultra-modern continental corporate headquarters for ADDI.

The project is expected to create some estimated 3,000 jobs in Cape Coast for artisans.

This project is in line with the country's "Year of Return" and “Beyond the Return” initiatives started under the Akufo-Addo-led government.

Meanwhile, the Ashanti regional chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Bernard Antwi Boasiako famed as Chairman Wontumi has indicated his willingness to buy United's Paul Pogba.

In a report sighted by YEN.com.gh on pulse.com.gh, the outspoken politician claimed he was ready to pay £53 million to acquire the services of Paul Pogba for Kumasi Asante Kotoko.

The Ghanaian businessman and NPP stalwart made the claim while speaking on his Wontumi TV station.
