A staunch member of the National Democratic Congress(NDC), Stephen Atubiga, has reportedly resigned from the party.

His resignation took effect from May 20, 2021.

In a report filed by GBC Ghanaonline, he referred to some of the current National Executives of the party as people with “vindictive” characters and “chameleons.

He said surrogates have been appointed to operate at the headquarters to thwart the ambitions of former President John Dramani Mahama to become a president again.

According to him, the national executives must be purged from leadership positions in the coming NDC national executive elections if JDM is ever to become a president again.

In his resignation letter addressed to the party Headquarters, he said, “it has always been the grand agenda of a clique of them to punish JDM as a payback time whilst the grassroots suffer in silence and hopelessness across the country”.

He pinpointed the National Chairman of the NDC party, Samuel Ofosu Ampofo, and asked him to produce the pink sheets of the 2020 election.

In his letter, he also noted that another issue worth mentioning is the lack of unity of purpose and entrenched political hypocrisy which are some of the retrogressive political games that caused the defeat of the NDC in the 2016 and 2020 general elections.

In other news, the Member of Parliament for Ningo Prampram, Samuel Nartey George, has called out President Akufo-Addo over his lack of political will to make structural changes to some state institutions.
