Young Lawyers To Strike Over Poor Working Conditions

There has been a decision by lawyers of Legal Aid Scheme to embark on a nationwide strike action in protest against what they describe to be the poor working conditions in the country.

The lawyers have blamed their decision on the poor salaries granted by government - a development they claim has resulted in the lack of interest by young lawyers to join government institutions.

Northern Regional Director of Legal Aid, Issah Mahmud who gave the hint in an exclusive interview with Accra based Kasapa FM  disclosed that the highest paid lawyer under the scheme receives GH¢1,500 compared to lawyers in other public sector establishments who receive double the amount as their least .

In the meantime, the Attorney General is yet to respond to the plea of the aggrieved lawyers.
