A chilling footage shows the exact moment the doomed OceanGate submersible went down into the ocean.
Story of the Titanic submersible
On Sunday, June 18, a total of five people who had paid more than KSh 35 million boarded a submersible belonging to a Washington-based company identified as OceanGate Expeditions.
The quintet were excited to embark on a 13,000ft journey below the surface of the North Atlantic Ocean to explore the wreckage of the Titanic ship which sank in 1912.

However, an hour and 45 minutes into their journey, the Titan submersible lost contact with its mothership, and it only had 96 hours of oxygen to sustain the passengers.
The 96 hours elapsed today, which further slimmed the chances of finding those onboard alive.
Last clip of submersible descending into ocean
A chilling last video of the submersible's last moments getting into the ocean has emerged.
A 22-year-old photographer, Abbi Jackson, shared a video selfie of the doomed vessel as it descended beneath the waves for a doomed voyage.
She took the video while on board the Polar Prince ship, which was used to launch the vessel, unaware of the tragedy that awaited.

Identities of 5 men missing

1. Hamish Harding
At 58, Hamish Harding is a British billionaire who also doubles up as the chairman of Action Aviation. The latter is a sales and operations company that offers various services in the business aviation industry.
2. Paul-Henri Nargeolet
Paul -Henry Nargeolet, a former commander who served in the navy for 25 years in France was also among the explorers in the expedition. Famously known as "Mr Titanic" for his expertise, Nargeolet boasts over 35 dives to the Titanic wreck site.
3. Stockton Rush
OceanGate Inc chief executive and founder Stockton Rush was also among those on board. He has also been a member of the Board of Trustees of OceanGate Foundation since 2012. The latter is a non-profit organization which aims to catalyse emerging marine technology to further discoveries in marine science, history, and archaeology.
