NPP Vice Chairman Says Wontumi Has Become a Stronger Christian in Prison

Former Ghana Football Association Vice President and King Faisal owner, Alhaji Osman Masawudu, has opened up about his recent visit to Chairman Wontumi, sharing that the embattled New Patriotic Party (NPP) Ashanti Regional Chairman is in good spirits despite his ongoing legal challenges.
Speaking in an interview on Omanpa TV, Masawudu said Wontumi looked calm and was full of hope during their meeting. According to him, the politician strongly believes he will soon regain his freedom.
Masawudu explained that Wontumi's faith has remained firm throughout his stay in prison, adding that the NPP chairman relies heavily on the Bible for strength and encouragement.
Daily Bible reading brings peace
Recounting their conversation, Masawudu said Wontumi told him that reading the Bible has become part of his daily routine.
"When I visited Wontumi, he was very cool and okay. He has the faith that he will be out. He said anytime he wakes up in the morning, he reads his Bible. He doesn't play with the Bible. When he wakes up in the morning, he reads his Bible."
Masawudu added that Wontumi also told him he has found joy despite being behind bars and has chosen to remain positive while waiting for the legal process to continue.
He further claimed that Wontumi spoke positively about life in prison, saying the people there have shown him kindness and affection.
According to Masawudu, Wontumi told him that many of the people at the prison have grown fond of him, making it easier for him to cope with the difficult period.
The interview has since generated reactions online, with many supporters encouraged by Masawudu's account of Wontumi's condition.
Others praised the politician's reliance on his Christian faith, describing it as a source of strength as he continues to battle his legal challenges.
