Dennis Miracles Aboagye, an aide to New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential candidate Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, has publicly expressed fears that his outspoken approach to Ghanaian politics could put him in harm's way.
Aboagye made the admission during an appearance on Joy News, where he addressed concerns around selective justice and institutional independence in Ghana's current political climate.

Miracles Aboagye speaks on personal safety
According to a report by GhanaWeb, the NPP figure was candid about his unease, acknowledging that his tendency to weigh in freely on contentious national issues carries personal risks.
He stopped short of describing an immediate physical danger, but made clear that the broader environment had left him unsettled.
"I don't feel safe. I won't lie to you. I told you I have written to the Chief Justice. I personally, I don't feel safe…I can't stop talking. I love to talk. I love to debate," he said. He added: "I feel my mouth will put me into trouble. That is what I feel."
His decision to write to the Chief Justice suggests he has already taken formal steps in response to his concerns, though he did not elaborate on the nature of that correspondence during the interview.
Aboagye warns against dangerous political precedents
Beyond his personal safety, Miracles Aboagye used the platform to caution against the establishment of political norms that could prove damaging in the long run.
He stressed that no political party holds power indefinitely and that actions taken by one administration can bind those that follow.
"Tomorrow, when another party is in power, you see, no government will be in power forever. I haven't said that. But I am saying that precedent becomes law," he said.
The remarks reflect wider anxieties among some political figures in Ghana about the durability of institutional independence and whether current conduct by those in power could set troubling standards for future governments.
Court freezes Dennis Miracles Aboagye's assets
Meanwhile, YEN.com.gh reported earlier that the Accra High Court had granted EOCO an order to freeze the assets of NPP’s Dennis Miracles Aboagye on August 3, 2026.
Dennis Miracles Aboagye had faced scrutiny over alleged financial and procurement irregularities worth about GH¢55 million.
The alleged irregularities had occurred during his tenure as Executive Secretary of the Inter-Ministerial Coordinating Committee on Decentralisation.
