A 16-year-old student of Adisadel College (Adisco), Elijah Kofi Awuah, has tragically passed away.

According to reports, the late youngster was a second-year student at the prestigious senior high school located in Cape Coast.

Awuah reportedly fell ill recently and passed away. His cause of death has not been officially stated.

Several posts announcing the death of the young ‘Santa Clausian’ went viral on Facebook on Friday, September 12, 2025.

Many Ghanaians expressed heartbreak over the devastating death and shared their condolences with his family.

Elijah Awuah's funeral has been scheduled for September 19 at the Acheampong Market, opposite the Chief's Palace in Jukwa in the Central Region.

Family member mourns late Elijah Awuah

In a TikTok video seen by YEN.com.gh, Kweku Awuah, a reported relative of the young Adisco student, mourned his passing.

Kweku shared a video collage containing images of Elijah’s obituaries and one photo of him as a child, backed by a sombre song by Ghanaian gospel musician Nacee.

Netizens flooded the comment section to express their sadness over the development and offered thoughts and prayers to the bereaved family.

TikToker and nursing student passes away

Previously, YEN.com.gh reported that a Ghanaian TikToker and nursing student, Colourwinner, passed away in tragic circumstances.

The final year student of the Presbyterian Nursing and Midwifery Training School at Dormaa Ahenkro died a few days before sitting for her licensure exams.

News of her death left her nursing colleagues, friends, and family members devastated, with many taking to social media to share their favourite moments of her life to honour her passing.
