On the first and second days of the four-day funeral, which started September 15, 2025, the young and beautiful Agonamanhemaa was clad in a white traditional outfit.

Videos of her dancing as she arrived at the venue have gained significant traction on social media.

A huge talking point for many netizens was the Agonamanhemaa's choice of colour.

The late Nana Konadu Yiadom II was the 14th Asantehemaa and the only surviving biological relative of Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.

As such, mourners are expected to dress modestly in black outfits to mark the solemn occasion.

Reports indicate that the young queenmother of 'Asante Agona's white outfit was in observance of an age-old Asante tradition.

Why was Agonamanhemaa in white?

In Asanteman, Nana Agonahemaa is also called Komfo Anokye maame (Komfo Anokye's mother).

It is believed that the renowned priest was once enstooled as a chief in Agona. To date, the Agona stool is considered a priestly deity just like the Nsumankwaa and Tepa stools.

All royal leaders of those power stools wear white to official traditional funerals, when everyone else is expected to be in traditional mourning colours (black and red).

The current Agonamanhemaa Nana Acheampomaa Ntansa Yiadom was sworn in at a young age of 27 years old in 2019. She is a nurse by profession.
