Pregnant Woman, Her Daughter, and Two Others Die in Road Crash

A horrific road crash involving a Sinotruk HOWO tipper truck has claimed the lives of four people, including a pregnant woman and her daughter, at Kinkinlin near Makango.

The tragic incident was said to have occurred around 5:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 7, 2026, while a group of women and girls were on their way to pick shea nuts.

Eyewitnesses, according to Citinewsroom, claimed that the tipper truck had suddenly veered off its lane and crossed onto the opposite side of the road.

The vehicle reportedly knocked down the victims from behind before overturning, hitting a total of five people in the process.

Four of the victims died instantly at the scene, throwing the entire Kinkinlin community into deep mourning over the sudden loss.

The sole survivor of the accident sustained life-threatening injuries and received initial care at the Salaga Government Hospital.

Due to the severity of the condition, the patient was later referred to the Tamale Teaching Hospital for further medical intervention.

The deceased have been identified as two sets of mothers and daughters, including the pregnant woman whose death has sparked national grief.

YEN.com.gh earlier reported that a community in the Upper West had been plunged into grief after a road accident on the Wa-Charia road.

One of the two victims who lost their lives was a final-year student scheduled to begin his Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).
