Why Israel attacked Qatar

On Tuesday, September 9, 2025, Israel carried out an unprecedented strike on Qatar.

According to a BBC report, the attack targeted Hamas senior leaders in Doha, the capital city.

Israel's Defence Force claimed the attack was aimed at those who are 'directly responsible for the brutal October 7 massacre'.

However, Qatar has accused Israel of reckless behaviour and violating international law.

Cash-strapped Taliban look to airspace for windfall

Meanwhile, YEN.com.gh reported that the cash-strapped Taliban government had located a potentially lucrative revenue stream - Afghanistan's airspace.

As Israel and Iran exchanged missiles and threw flight paths into disarray this year, the skies above the emirate offered carriers a less turbulent, faster route.

According to industry insiders, the Taliban leadership were charging a flat $700 overflight fee, after the recent easing of restrictions on the country's airspace.
